North Carolina fiddler J.E. Mainer and Dudley Watson, of Lenoir, NC, performing at a workshop during the 1965 UC Berkeley Folk Festival. JE brought a five-piece band out to California with him that year. Because of the informality of the workshop performance, I was able to get relatively close for this photo.
