We also offer special thanks to Mike Seeger and Gilles Apap, two first-rate musicians who added their own unique talents to make the show a success. And success it was, since the Lobero Theater Foundation has expressed a desire to make this an annual event. NEW CD RELEASE! Peter Feldmann & The Very Lonesome Boys are pleased to announce that we are releasing a new CD project in conjunction with Hen Cackle Records. Titled "Home On The Grange", it features many favorite bluegrass numbers that we've performed at the Santa Ynez Valley Grange Hall #644 and other local venues over the past several years, along with a couple of new surprises. Songs and tunes include a banjo wonder number by David West (Follow The Leader), two vocals by Tom Lee (Walkin‘ The Dog and Freight Train Boogie, which highlights his great bass playing), Mike Nadolson's singing on I´ll Take The Blame, Tommy Marton fiddling Paddy On The Turnpike, two vocals by David West (I‘ll Go Steppin´ Too and California Cottonfields), six songs by Peter (Rovin´ Gambler, I Live In The Past, Deep Ellem Blues, Bringin´ In The Georgia Mail, I´m Blue, I´m Lonesome, and The Nine Pound Hammer) and as a bonus track, Peter and Francine singing The Bramble & The Rose, as they often perform it at the Grange. The CD will be available at the following show an on-line at HenCackleRecords.com
CD RELEASE PARTY Named "The pre-eminent bluegrass artist in the area" by John Robinson, the Santa Barbara Symphony's executive director, Peter Feldmann has been studying, collecting, and performing bluegrass and old-time music for more than 40 years. An outstanding mandolinist in the Monroe tradition, Peter also adds guitar, banjo, and fiddle to his sets, which combine new arrangements of traditional American tunes with bluegrass classics. The founder of the 70s music club "The Bluebird Café", as well as the Santa Barbara Old Time Fiddlers' Convention, Peter now manages his music company, BlueGrass West! in the Santa Ynez Valley. The Very Lonesome Boys includes bassist Tom Lee, veteran of the Cache Valley Drifters and The Bluegrass Cardinals, Mike Nadolson, head of Tricopolis Records in Orange County plays Martin flat-top guitar. The banjo duties are ably handled by record producer David West of Play Ball Productions (CMH Records recording artist), known also for his song writing and producing skills. Tommy Marton is our fine fiddler. The Grange Hall, in use since the early 40s, is an ideal place to hear some great bluegrass music, which began, after all, as a farmer's music.
