The Folk Music Revival |
|
|
A new folk festival was held in Monterey, California in May of 1963, due to a burgeoning interest in folk and traditional musics. On a Saturday morning, professor DK Wilgus of UCLA organized a pannel discussion on the "revival" of interest in such music. We hope to release a CD documenting this session, which included musicians such as Bill Monroe, Mance Lipscomb, Roscoe Holcomb, and Tom Ashley, sometime later this year. In the meantime, here's an audio clip of Tom Ashley, discussing what he called "Lassie Makin'". |
